IGP Certification

Attain Your Information Governance Professional (IGP) Certification

Earn your IGP and display your information governance expertise. The IGP is the premier certification focused exclusively on the high-level, strategic practice of information governance. An IGP is a trusted resource in their organization, and the designation is a requirement for many roles today, including the roles of director of information governance, information governance manager, information manager, director of information, director of information management, chief data officer (CDO), chief information officer (CIO), chief information security officer (CISO), chief technology officer (CTO), and chief privacy officer (CPO), among others.

Bolster your career and build your future path by attaining your IGP certification. Your IGP demonstrates that you have the strategic perspective and the requisite knowledge to help your organization leverage information for maximum value while reducing the costs and mitigating the risks associated with this critical organizational asset.

Become A Certified IGP

To become a certified information governance professional (IGP), follow this simple process:

1: Fill in the IGP application & pay the application fee

It’s easy to start. Create your ARMA.org account (if you don’t already have one) and log in. (The non-member option is free of charge, or become a Professional Member of ARMA and unlock additional resources.) Complete your IGP application, which asks simple questions, such as your name, contact information, and experience levels. You’ll receive a link when your application is approved so that you can pay your exam fee (currently $599 USD). That’s it; you’ve started the process of becoming a certified IGP.

2: Receive your testing code, schedule the exam

Once you’ve completed your application and paid your exam fee, you will receive your “candidate ID.” With your candidate ID, you can schedule your exam at a Pearson Vue testing location near you. (There are testing centers available worldwide.)

View the list of available testing centers at http://pearsonvue.com/igp. Schedule online at http://pearsonvue.com/igp and click Schedule Online. You will be prompted to create a login and password and then to schedule your exam. Schedule by phone at http://pearsonvue.com/igp and click Schedule By Phone to find the phone number and hours of operation for the call center for your country. When you call, a customer-service agent will help you find the testing centers nearest you.

Note: Schedule your exam as soon as possible after your application is approved. Your authorization will be valid for 12 months from the date of approval; after that you will need to reapply and pay additional exam fees. If you fail the exam, the retest fee is $250.
